The MIL-J-7448C specification was for a contract from the late 1950s, representing an L-2B from the era when the transition to sage green was underway.ROLEN SPORTSWEAR COMPANY, the manufacturer, was one of the contractors that supplied flight jackets to the U.S. Air Force from the 1950s through the early 1960s, and is known for producing early nylon flight jackets such as the L-2B and MA-1.

Both the front and arm pockets are equipped with CONMAR brass zippers. Both are still in their original condition and have never been replaced, which is a highly desirable feature for a vintage piece. Brass zippers are exceptionally durable, so you can wear this jacket with confidence even today.

Traces of removed patches remain on the chest and sleeves, suggesting that unit insignia and name patches were once attached. These details evoke the jacket’s history of actual use—a hallmark of a flight jacket—and are part of its unique vintage charm.
