An early ERDL model. Fortunately, both the size tag and care label are still intact, making this a particularly collectible piece.
The size label reads "
MEDIUM-LONG." Furthermore, the contract information on the inside confirms that it is made of 100% cotton poplin with a W.R. (Water Repellent) finish. Based on these details, this is an excellent example that can be identified as part of a supply batch from around 1967.
The ERDL pattern features the sharp, high-contrast print characteristic of early versions. Combined with natural fading from actual use, the color has shifted to a slightly faded, subdued tone. Its appeal lies in the deep, authentic vintage character—a far cry from the vivid hues of a brand-new garment.
The fabric is cotton poplin, not ripstop. Lightweight and supple yet durable, this material is a hallmark of early Vietnam War jungle fatigues. The softness and texture developed through wear are exceptional. While there is overall fading and signs of wear, there is no critical damage, and it is in very good condition for a vintage item. Including the fact that the tag is still firmly attached, this is a piece with high historical value and practicality.
ERDL items vary in appearance even within the same lot. Among them, this piece stands out as a well-balanced, high-quality example with its tag intact and exceptional character. Please note that this is a used item and cannot be returned.
