The M-65 Field Parka, a masterpiece outerwear of the U.S. Army, is now in stock, an actual shell made in 1970.
This model is the successor to the M-51 Parker adopted in the 1950s, and was a parka for extremely cold regions that was in full-scale operation from the late Vietnam War, officially known as the "PARKA, MAN'S, M-65. It boasts a degree of perfection that stands out among the many military coats, and is a masterpiece that continues to exert a significant influence on modern apparel design.
This item was stored for a long time and can be said to be a dead stock item. The labeling is also different from the later ones. The aluminum zipper is a very beautiful point. This is a relatively rare early lot.
This item was made in 1970 (DSA100-70-C-1370 ) and manufactured by Sportsmaster, Inc. The size indicated is REGULAR-MEDIUM (chest 37-41 inches). The material is high-density poplin made of 50% cotton and 50% nylon, the latest material at that time with strength and water resistance while being lightweight.
The front has a zipper + winged buttons, large flap pockets on both hips, and drawcords at the waist and hem. The split tail hem and adjustable tabs on the cuffs are designed for use in extremely cold climates. The inside has button loops for attaching a liner hood, and can be expanded by layering. This item is a shell only and does not come with a liner or hood.
The condition is good with very little signs of use and the color remains dark throughout. The fabric is still firm and the zippers and snaps work fine. The zippers and snaps are in good condition.
In recent years, the popularity of the original M-65 parka has skyrocketed both domestically and internationally, and the chances of finding a 70's made item in good condition in the market has been decreasing. This is a must-have item that has the three key elements of design, function, and value as a resource.
