Among the USAF's famous "N-3B" jackets for extremely cold climates, the black tag model from the 1950s lot, the first period, is now in stock. It is manufactured by Southern Aviation MFG CO. The most distinctive feature of this item is the original CROWN zipper, theblack-based spec tag, and the USAF stencil on the left sleeve. This is a piece that truly has "proof of wear" engraved on it, and can be highly recommended for detail-oriented collectors. The outer fabric is the well-known sage green nylon. The lining is a thick wool pile liner, and the hood is an integrated large hood with real faux mix fur. It boasts cold-resistant performance for winter wear. The condition of the jacket is that there are extensive stains and dulling on the front, fading and discoloration on the hood, and a real sense of use throughout, but the military-like atmosphere is exceptional for that reason.There is a slight tear on the inner lining of the hood. The zipper operates smoothly and there are no major parts missing.
